Our courses are taught using the Ottawa Paramedic Service First Aid Program which are WSIB approved. All of our courses are taught by knowledgeable instructors who have extensive experience in both teaching and first response. Our instructors backgrounds range from lifeguards, to first responders including firefighters and paramedics. Our instructors will ensure that you leave feeling confident in your newly learnt skills by providing an entertaining and relaxing environment for training.
Certification Requirements in Ontario
Standard First Aid
All Ontario workplaces with more than 5 workers in any one shift require Standard First Aid.
Exceptions (Small Workplaces that Require Standard First Aid):

Personal Support Workers
Emergency First Aid
All Ontario workplaces with 5 of less workers in any one shift require Emergency First Aid.
Examples:
Security guards
Drivers (taxi, bus)
CPR & AED
CPR Level “C” & AED
Personal trainers
Fitness employees
Basic Life Support (BLS) - Formally Health Care Provider - HCP)
Health care providers (doctors, nurses, respiratory technicians, etc.)
First responders (paramedics, fire fighters, etc.)
Courses Available
Standard First Aid
Standard First Aid is designed for workplaces with more than 6 employees on shift at a location. This is a comprehensive course which covers the treatment of a variety of injuries and illnesses that a worker can end up dealing with on the job.
All participants will also receive a full CPR Level “C” and AED Certification.
Emergency First Aid
This course is designed for people who work in a workplace where there are less that 6 people on shift working directly with each other. This course is ideal for security staff, people working in the hospitality industry, contract workers, small offices, etc. Emergency First Aid covers the most common types of injuries and medical conditions.
All participants will also receive a full CPR Level “C” and AED Certification.
CPR Level “C” & AED
This course is designed for people who want to learn an important life-saving skill. This course will not only teach how to do CPR, but also to recognize when to call 911. This course is mandatory for people who work in the fitness field. Definitely a skill that can relate to all environments.
Standard First Aid Recertification
This course is designed for people who need to renew their Standard First Aid Certification. In order to take this course you must possess a valid Standard First Aid certification. This course covers the same information as the full standard first aid course but in a condensed version.
All participants will also receive a full CPR Level “C” and AED Certification.
Basic Life Support (BLS) Formally HCP
Formmall known as Health Care Provider (HCP), this course is designed for people who work (or will be working) in the health care field such as nurses, doctors, paramedics, first responders, etc. This course covers the CPR & AED protocols and equipment that are specific to health care providers.
